Australian teamwear brands Carney Sports Marketing (CSM) and Classic Sportswear have joined forces, with the strategic merger of the two brands marking a new era for the company under the famous Classic logo.
Announced as part of Classic’s 90th Birthday celebrations, the coming together combines the strengths of the two organisations, which between them have 115 years of experience providing unparalleled quality and innovation from grassroots to elite level in Australia and New Zealand.
Founded in 1998 by Warren Carney, CSM has built a stellar reputation on the values of honesty, hard work, and integrity. Growing from a family-owned and operated business, CSM has become a trusted name in supplying team wear to hundreds of clubs across the country, spanning a variety of sporting codes. This unwavering commitment to quality and service has positioned CSM as a competitive force in grassroots sportswear for over two decades.
In 2019, the partners that own and operate CSM acquired Classic Sportswear, an iconic Australian brand synonymous with excellence in the sportswear industry. This acquisition set the stage for an exciting new chapter, culminating in the merger of the CSM and Classic brands in time for the 2025 season.
The merger will bring together CSM’s deep-rooted expertise in grassroots team wear with Classic’s renowned excellence in elite sportswear, enabling the combined entity to expand its reach into more sporting codes, offering best-in-class products to sporting clubs across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
